“Les Petits Français”
curriculum
has a content-based format. Each week students are presented with a topic
that is
exploited to the maximum, with activities, songs, video
presentations and lots of reinforcement. Each
lesson is of 1-hour
duration and organized as follows (sample format): |
| ACTIVITY | DURATION |
| Welcome Song, General Greetings and Greetings Song | 5 min. |
| Presentation of the Day’s Topic (pictures/poster/cards/objects) | 15 min. |
| Physical Practice of Day’s Topic (song/game/dance/poem/video) | 15 min. |
| Hands-on Practice of Day’s Topic (craft/ project) | 15 min. |
| Revision of day’s topic and Good Bye Song | 5 min. |
At
the end of every week, students take home a sheet which contains a
summary of the contents learnt during the two classes as well as
practical ideas on how to practice these contents at home.
